Get to know me

Hi, I’m Oni- Your Postpartum and Newborn Specialist!

I am a mother, an artist and a Birth Arts Certified Postpartum doula based in Atlanta,GA. It is my honor and pleasure to work with families, whether this is their first experience or their fifth.

I was called to this work organically after the birth of my daughters, when I personally experienced the gap in care and support once baby arrived. I relied on google and my intuition to guide me. Now, I am an advocate to return to a model of times past, when new parents and baby were supported and cared for by their community for an extended period after birth.

My Experience includes

  • Birth Arts International Post Partum Doula Certification

  • Birthing From Within Childbirth Mentor

  • Early Childhood Educator and Parenting Mentor

  • Experienced with Multiples and Premature Births

  • Red Cross First Aid and CPR Certified

  • Safe Serve Training and Certification

  • Insured and Bonded

About Me

01. Mother

My journey into the birth work started with the birth of my daughters and for them I am grateful. I am an advocate for gentle and attachment parenting techniques. I believe that babies and children are people and deserve respect, honor and love. I am becoming more passionate about environmental and social justice issues because I want my babes and all children to inherit a beautiful, functional, vibrant world

02. Artist

I am in love with all things fiber! I knit, weave, crochet, embroider and dye my own fabrics. I enjoy collecting and studying vintage craft books. I am attracted to crafts that are functional and beautiful. Preserving historical crafting techniques is of particular interest to me and I enjoy teaching others what I have learned. Occasionally, I will sell my creations at fairs and markets. I am humbled to know that things I have created are appreciated in the homes of others.

03. Mentor

Birthing from Within provided the perfect framework for me to not only share my knowledge about birth and postpartum but to define my role as a companion and mentor. I wholeheartedly believe that every parent has innate knowledge about what is best for their family. It’s my goal to be a lamp to guide and encourage, but ultimately it is their own unique journey. I delight in observing parents gain confidence in their abilities.

Sweet words from clients

Here are a few of my favorites

Food

This is so hard to choose! Growing up in Southern California means I have access to some of the best foods from so many beautiful cultures, but if I have to choose I would say burritos.

Holiday

In my family, birthdays are holidays! We always take the day off, wear special clothes ,make flower crowns and spend quality time together.

Season

Summer for sure. The days are longer, and warmer. Everyone is more relaxed and a swimsuit is acceptable attire.
